Slovakia

The next day we headed out to cross Slovakia on our way to Hungary. Slovakia is a landlocked country in Central Europe with a population of over five million and an area of about 49,000 square kilometres (almost 19,000 square miles). The Slovak Republic borders the Czech Republic and Austria to the west, Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east and Hungary to the south. The largest city is its capital, Bratislava.

Here are some pictures of houses we passed.

For lunch, we stopped and had a picnic outside a Church.

Then back on the road.

At some point, we realized we were lost and had missed our turn-off.

Oh well, the detour wound up bringing us through Bratislava.

We arrived later that night in Budapest OK, just a few hours delayed. ;-)
