Zakopane

The next day we headed off to Zakopane, Poland. Zakopane is a town in southern Poland with some 28,000 inhabitants. It lies in a large valley between the Tatra Mountains and Gubałówka Hill. It is the most important Polish center of mountaineering and skiing, and is visited annually by some three million tourists. It has the highest elevation (800-1,000m) of any town in Poland.

Here are the Tatra Mountains (I believe).

A fellow building a fine house in Zakopane.

And in Zakopane, in addition to adults crossing the street, one must watch out for little girls with giant lollipops!

That afternoon, we went for a hike.

And then later that night, we had a grand feast.

Eastern Europe has its own version of Hooters; it is called "Rooster." There was also one in Krakow.
