Across the Lake

After surviving windy Texas, we're moving on, though not without stopping in Houston (city population 2.14mil and 4th largest city in the US) for lunch to see a childhood friend, Chris Morlier. We figured it had probably been 12-14 years since we last saw each other. It was really good to catch up and hear how each other's families are doing. (There is even a Pasadena, TX right near where Chris works.)

Charles and I head out of Houston on the Fred Hartman Bridge which spans the Houston Shipping Channel. A very beautiful bridge. And stop for some Gator Gas to take us into Louisiana.

Tonight we will stay with my sister Diana, niece Savannah, and cat Fancy, who live across the lake. Us New Orleanians say "across the lake" in reference to the other (north) side of Lake Pontchartrain.
