After saying good-bye to Attma & family, we headed eastward into Kansas, land of the five-legged cows and severe thunderstorms (and continued high gas prices).

Later that evening, after we had turned south on the I-35 (I-135) at Salina, our pleasant drive was interrupted by an Emergency Radio Broadcast. Apparently, there was a severe thunderstorm warning with hale and tornado watch for southern Kansas. People around here seemed to race around and track the storms for a hobby as people kept calling in "This is storm tracker 325 in Sedgwick County reporting....." It turns out, we were headed right into it. But if we drove fast enough, we could outrun it, right?! NOT. Well, growing up in New Orleans, I had seen my fair share of thunderstorms, and

We had a late dinner at the Denny's just south of Oklahoma City (city population of 537,734, 30th largest in US) and spend the night in Purcell.
